About paintball guns and shooting accuracy

Whether paintballing is a new passion or you’re a paintball veteran, there’s nothing more frustrating than missing your mark. If you’re tired of not hitting your target, it’s time to improve your accuracy. While you might be tempted to throw out your gun and start over with a new model, there are actually a few things you can do with your current machine.

If you are using a Co2 bottle to power your paintball gun, it could be impacting your accuracy. A high pressure air tank, also known as HPA, will increase your overall accuracy and be more efficient. HPA tanks use a regulator. This means you use the same amount of pressure each time you pull the trigger. Using HPA instead of Co2 also keeps your gun cleaner because of the type of gas it is. With a cleaner gun, longer lasting pressure, and increased accuracy, this is one upgrade you don’t want to skip.

Protective Gear Needed for Paintball

Paintball is a sport that’s sweeping the nation. If you’ve taken an interest in this fast-paced game, it’s time to invest in your own equipment. Perhaps more important than the gun itself is the protective gear you need before you can safely hit the course.

Did you know that a paintball travels between 260 and 280 feet per second? Speed-wise, that means that you have paintballs coming at you at more than 200 miles per hour. If one of these tiny spheres hits you in the head, it can cause some serious damage. Protect your head by wearing a paintball-specific helmet or headgear each time you pick up your gun.

Product Details for the Virtue Spire III

It’s officially here!! All the info you need to know about Virtue’s new hopper!

The Virtue Spire III is an all-encompassing upgrade to the game-winning design of the original Spire 200 and 260. The Spire III is built on technology that made the original Spire the best high-end loader in paintball, while simultaneously improving its performance, reliability, and ease-of-use.

The Spire III is built on the proven original Spire design that has won more professional tournaments since its inception than any other loader in the sport of paintball.

The Spire III features numerous upgrades to help you take your game to the next level! These features include:

  • Trademarked Hinged Shell Technology
    • The Spire III makes disassembly faster and easier, while improving durability at the same time by combining the top shell, back shell and bottom shell into a single hinge-mounted unit. Just unlock the shell with the press of a button, and the high strength glass-filled nylon hinge provides one-handed access to the entire inside of the loader.
  • Dual LED Reload Indicator with Alarm
    • The Smart Spring Ramp allows the loader to automatically sense when it is low on paint and notify you through a combination of dual Heads Up LED Indicators and an adjustable audible speaker alarm.
  • Higher 230rnd Capacity
    • By reducing the height of the internal Spire Drive and changing the geometry of the bottom of the loader, the capacity has increased to 230 rounds without adding to the height or weight of the Spire III.
  • Brittle Paint Performance
    • The Spire III is designed to feed the most fragile paint imaginable. Newly redesigned flexible rubber fingers gently feed brittle paint with ease, while the interior of the loader is designed with smooth surfaces to prevent breakage from paint turbulence.
  • Faster Jam Proof Feeding
    • The Spire III Drive system is 35% smaller and integrated into a newly designed captured raceway that allows the Spire III to feed faster and more consistent than ever while still being able to feed the worst paintballs imaginable without skipping a beat.
  • Integrated Smart Spring Ramp
    • The Spire III comes standard with a larger Smart Spring Ramp that helps feed at a variety of angles, while also interfacing with the Spire III Reload Indicator to alert you when you’re low on paint.
  • Improved Toolless Design
    • The Spire III comes standard with a larger Smart Spring Ramp that helps feed at a variety of angles, while also interfacing with the Spire III Reload Indicator to alert you when you’re low on paint.
  • Toolless Tray Design
    • Not only can the Spire be disassembled in seconds, but now the tray and raceway itself on the Spire III can be disassembled for easy cleaning or service without using any tools.
  • Interchangeable Spire Drive Fingers
    • The Spire III flexible fingers are co-molded to a quick release ring making their removal for cleaning or maintenance easier.
  • Magnetically Attached Spire Drive
    • The Spire III Drive is attached by a smooth magnetic surface on the top of the drive, making it easier to remove and install.
  • Integrated Backshell Windows
    • By integrating the backshell directly into the top shell, the Spire III has fewer parts to worry about while still retaining it’s unique style characteristics.
  • Quick Change Speed Feed
    • The Spire III lid can be replaced with the best speedfeed in paintball in seconds. The newly updated Spire CrownSF II features toolless quick change removable fingers. Each finger is mounted on a spring, for the ultimate combination of feeding performance, paint retention, and sag-proof reliability.
  • Shock-Mounted G-Force Sensor
    • The Spire III G-force sensor has been upgraded and mounted on an independent silicone housing which reduces unwanted spinning and allows the Spire III to function more consistently and reliably.
  • CPU-Optimized Motor
    • The Spire III has a faster, more intelligent processor that monitors the motor to prevent annoying pulsing of the stack, allowing the Spire III to stop and start feeding more reliably.
  • Wireless Programming
    • The Spire III features wireless programming directly from an Apple or Android device. Download and update the Spire III with the latest firmware or just always have your manual with you. Future versions of the software will allow you to make adjustments securely over your smartphone or tablet.
  • Toolless Electronics Package
    • Not only can the software on the Spire III be flashed wirelessly from your phone or tablet, but the entire electronics package can be easily removed without tools.

The New Planet Eclipse CSR Product Details

Planet Eclipse CSR- Front

That feeling of being one of a select few. Part of an exclusive group. Special.

There are few ways of achieving this feeling in today’s modern world of globalisation and mass-market production. Yet there are still small enclaves where it’s possible to find exclusivity.

At Eclipse we have always tried to produce something special. Every one of our markers is special to us. But some are just that little bit more special than others. We constantly go out of our way to push the boundaries of what we do and how we do it. We try to envisage what the ultimate would be. How far we can take it. For something to be the pinnacle of performance and design.

Eclipse markers such as the GSL, the SL8r and the ultra-rare SL91 have given players a taste of what it’s like to belong to an exclusive group. A group of people that covet the very rarest and best we have to offer.

In the mold of the SL lines that came before it, the CSR is a heavily modified variant of the current headline Eclipse marker, the CS1. It features bespoke machined components and custom accessories that can only be found on the CSR, such as the frame, body, POPS assembly and eye covers and introduces a completely new barrel system in the Shaft FL.

Planet Eclipse CSR Shaft FL 1Planet Eclipse CSR Shaft FL 2

Planet Eclipse CSR Kit

Designed and manufactured in collaboration with the world’s leading carbon fibre barrel specialist, DeadlyWind, the Shaft FL combines decades of barrel manufacturing know-how to produce an incredibly light, efficient and consistent barrel system.

In fact, the ethos behind the CSR has been led with weight reduction in mind and it comes in at a noticeable 100g or 3.5oz lighter than the CS1. A difference that can really be felt in the hand. As if that weren't enough, the box itself is hand-made from authentic Carbon Fibre. A true light-weight package.

But above anything else, the CSR brings that exclusivity that so many crave. Produced in limited numbers and over a limited period of time it’s an object of desire and engineering beauty that only a lucky few will ever get to experience.

Every visual aspect of the CS1 was considered when approaching the visual sculpting of the CSR. From the feedneck down to the POPS, the CSR exudes a level of refinement and weight-saving purpose that takes it into modern day SL territory.

Planet Eclipse CSR 2

The IVCore was the first commercially available system to bring true decoupled breech-sensing valve technology to a system tuned for reliability and efficiency whilst being completely dwell insensitive. The large volume for the firing chamber, modified bolt port geometry and large adjustment range for the SFR give the CS platform its exceptionally smooth and consistent shot characteristics. The IVCore’s now trademark quiet sound signature and awe-inspiring soft shot gives the user a marker that produces very little kick and can be relied upon to deliver, no matter what the weather, terrain or game format.

How to Choose an Air Tank

Deciding what air tank to buy can seem overwhelming purely because of the fact that there are so many options.

To start, there are aluminum tanks, like the ones from First Strike. They are basic tanks made of formed aluminum and usually come with the regulator already on. These generally hold up to 3000 psi.

Then there are carbon fiber tanks, which come in a huge variety of sizes and designs. Carbon fiber tanks will allow for more psi, generally 4500. By comparison, a tank with 3000 psi will get you on average 10 shots per cubic inch, while a tank with 4500 psi will get you 15 shots per cubic inch.

Depending on what the manufacturer chooses to name them, there are also selections of tanks known as ultralights/superlights. And that's just what they are. They are the same size and have the same volume as their standard counterparts, but they're just lighter. For example, a standard 68 carbon fiber tank form Ninja weighs in at 2 lbs 3.4 oz, which a superlight 68 carbon fiber tank from Ninja weights 1 lb 11 oz.

The tanks we see used most commonly are the 68 SL and the 77 SL because they offer a bit of everything- comfortable sizing, comfortable weight, and substantial volume. But at the end of the day, choosing what tank really comes down to what level of functionality you need to play and how you like your tank to feel.

For a more in depth look at air tanks and for further help deciding what type of tank to buy, check out the video below!
