THE FREAK XL
The Original Freak system quickly grew into the most widely used and highly respected interchangeable bore barrel ever made. Through years of tournament proven performance it has been the benchmark of consistency, accuracy and flexibility. The new Freak XL builds on that legacy, combining user feedback with extensive research to deliver the next evolutionary step in the Freak system with a longer control bore.
In a controlled test environment, paintballs fired through the Freak XL exhibited an average velocity increase of 6 feet per second compared to those fired with the same dwell timing and pressure through an original Freak with the same bore diameter and porting. This efficiency improvement allows the same velocity to be reached with a lower pressure burst of air, resulting in reduced recoil, reduced sound signature and reduced air impact on the paintball - simply by moving up to the Freak XL system.
Freak XL backs are the foundation for each barrel. Available in a polished finish, Freak XL backs are not compatible with original Freak fronts or 5-inch inserts.
ACP XL FRONTS
Now with the Freak ACP barrel front, the kits are taking on rough weather, mud and even paint fill. Taking their name from All-Conditions Performance, the Freak ACP barrels combine the power of the Freak XL system with an all new barrel front designed to keep going through the worst field conditions. On the outside four rows of barrel porting help equalize air pressure in the barrel with the outside air for a smooth and quiet transition from acceleration to free flight. On the inside the Freak ACP sports an all new look. Sixteen rows of smoothly transitioned grooves and rails bring the benefits of straight rifling to the Freak XL.
Rather than spinning the paintball with a spiral rifling pattern, ACP straight rifling provides the same linear path as a traditional smooth barrel while being better equipped to cope with the barrel fouling that comes with rough weather. Once the paintball exits the Freak XL control bore, it literally rides on rails through the length of the barrel front. Dust, mud, paint fill or rain can literally be blown out of the way into the grooves of the ACP rifling, rather than wedging between the ball and barrel wall where they cause off axis spin and hook shots, or worse- binding and breaking the ball in the barrel. Field proven by some of the world's top players through their development cycle, ACP barrel fronts shoot cleaner, faster when the going gets rough. They put more paint on target in less time, which is the Freak XL's winning advantage..
The Freak XL inserts offer a full 8-inch control bore which is expertly honed from aerospace grade aluminum alloy and available in a complete range of bore sizes: .675*, .677*, .679, .682, .684, .687, .691, .693, and .695. Like the original Freak, Freak XL inserts are color-coded with a durable low-friction hard anodized finish and laser engraved for quick identification.
NEW FREAK CASE XL
Perfect protection for the Freak XL, this textile sided case is rigid enough to protect a Freak XL back, front, and inserts while compact enough to stash easily in a gear bag. An internal securement system locks down each component to keep it in place for a safe trip to the field whether it is across town or around the world.
